Question 1

What is VINTO?

Accepted Answer

VINTO is a wine portfolio tracking app. Scan a label to see what the bottle is worth, based on daily updated prices from actual transactions, and follow your whole collection like a stock portfolio. Think of it as Nordnet, but for fine wine. A wine cellar sensor is in development.

Question 2

How accurate are VINTO wine prices compared to Vivino?

Accepted Answer

VINTO provides 94% price accuracy by sourcing data from actual wine transactions, not listing prices. Vivino displays what sellers ask for, typically 15–20% above real market value. VINTO's data comes from the world's largest professional wine trading platform with 25 years of transaction history.

Question 3

What does the VINTO sensor do?

Accepted Answer

The VINTO sensor is in development. It is designed to measure temperature and humidity in your wine storage and alert you when conditions drift. It has no release date yet, and the app works fully without it.

Question 4

What temperature should wine be stored at?

Accepted Answer

Wine should be stored at a stable 12–14°C (54–57°F). Fluctuations above 2°C per day accelerate degradation. Humidity should be 60–75% to keep corks from drying out. The VINTO app tells you when each bottle is ready to drink.

Question 5

What is the difference between VINTO and Vivino?

Accepted Answer

Vivino is a wine discovery app built around ratings and shop prices. VINTO is a portfolio tracker showing actual market value from real transactions and the value of your collection over time, which Vivino does not offer.

Question 6

How does fine wine investment work?

Accepted Answer

Burgundy and Bordeaux have beaten the S&P 500 for two decades. Returns come from scarcity: bottles are consumed or break, so supply shrinks while collector demand grows. VINTO tracks your portfolio's return with daily updated prices from actual trading data.

Question 7

When does VINTO launch?

Accepted Answer

The VINTO app has been live in the App Store since May 2026 and is free to download for iOS. A wine cellar sensor is in development.

Question 8

What does the VINTO app cost?

Accepted Answer

VINTO is freemium. The free tier lets you track up to 10 bottles with market prices. VINTO Premium (49–69 DKK/month) adds daily price updates, portfolio analytics, performance benchmarks and drink-window alerts. Founding members get 50% off Premium permanently.

Question 9

Which phones does VINTO work with?

Accepted Answer

VINTO is live in the App Store for iOS. Android is on the roadmap but not yet available. The app currently has 100+ active collectors and a 4.9-star rating.

Question 10

Does VINTO work without the sensor?

Accepted Answer

Yes. The VINTO app works fully as a portfolio tracker without the sensor. You can add bottles manually or by scanning labels, see daily updated market prices, and track returns. The sensor, currently in development, will add cellar monitoring.

Question 11

When will I receive the VINTO sensor?

Accepted Answer

The sensor is in development and has no release date yet. The VINTO app is free in the App Store and works fully without the sensor.

Question 12

Where does VINTO get wine price data from?

Accepted Answer

VINTO has a data partnership with the world's largest professional wine trading platform, which has 25 years of transaction history covering billions of dollars in fine wine sales annually. This provides actual sale prices — not estimates — resulting in 94% price accuracy.

Question 13

Is my wine collection data secure?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Your collection data is stored securely and accessible only by you. VINTO uses industry-standard encryption for all data in transit and at rest. We never sell your data to third parties, and you can export or delete your collection at any time.

Question 14

Can I export my wine collection data?

Accepted Answer

Yes. VINTO lets you export your full collection as a structured data file for accounting, insurance, or personal records.

Question 15

Is VINTO available outside Denmark?

Accepted Answer

VINTO is built for wine collectors globally. The app and pricing data work worldwide, and the app is available in English and Danish.
